UF2e-6011 two channel 20 MS/s 14-bit AWG
256 MB memory and streaming feature
Woburn , MA USA – December 2, 2008. Strategic Test, an industry-leading supplier of PC-based instruments, has announced the availability of the UF2e-6011 two channel 20 MS/s 14-bit Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) PCI Express card. Each channel has its own 14-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) to ensure synchronous output and a choice of three reconstruction filters (4 th order Butterworth lowpass) giving bandwidths of 5 MHz, 1 MHz or 100 kHz. A no-filter option is also software-selectable.
“With the deep signal memory of up to 2 giga samples plus the ability to stream from hard disks, this AWG card is well suited for creating long duration and complex waveforms”, commented Bob Giblett, president of Strategic Test. “This makes the UF2e-6011 well-suited for applications that include I&Q signal generation, RADAR system development, communications testing, laser positioning, and HDTV signal generation”.
Typical dynamic specifications include signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of better than 61.5 dB, total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 70.4 dB and spurious-free dynamic range ( SFDR) greater than 85.5 dB.
The boards are supplied with 128 mega samples (256 MBytes) of signal memory as standard, but can be expanded to 2 giga samples (4 GBytes) through a proprietary onboard DIMM module. Streaming from multiple hard disks in a RAID configuration is possible at up to 60 mega samples per second.
The following options are available for each board allowing the user to customize the instrument:
- Onboard memory: 256, 512, 1024, 2048 or 4096 MBytes
- Multiple Replay (memory segmentation)
- Gated Sampling (output clock controlled by external TTL signal)
- Digital Outputs (2 bits per DAC, synchronous)
- Star Hub (synchronization of up to 5 or 16 boards, or 5 to 16 PC’s. Can be used with Digitizer and Digital I/O boards to create mixed mode systems)
- BaseXIO (adds 8 asynchronous digital I/O lines)
- Amplifier board (increases output range from ±3 V to ±10 V)
Strategic Test also provides the industry’s most comprehensive software support with the following Software Development Kit’s available:
- Windows Vista and XP64, XP, 2000, NT and 98
- Linux drivers for RedHat, Suse, Fedora and Debian
- MATLAB
- LabVIEW
- Agilent-VEE
- LabWindows/CVI
- DASYLab
